Simple Checkout Rules ("the App")
Effective date: September 29, 2026
The App lets Shopify merchants configure checkout rules: hiding, renaming, or reordering payment and delivery methods, and enforcing order quantity or subtotal limits. Rules are enforced at checkout by Shopify Functions running on Shopify's infrastructure.
When a merchant installs the App, we store only:
Rule configurations (method patterns, limits, messages) are stored as Shopify-owned metafields inside the merchant's shop — not in our own database.
The App does not collect, store, or process any personal data of the merchant's customers. Checkout rules are evaluated in real time by Shopify Functions against the current cart; no cart contents or buyer information are persisted or transmitted to our servers.
Subscription charges are processed entirely by Shopify's Billing API. We never see or store payment card details.
Session data is deleted automatically when the App is uninstalled (via the app/uninstalled webhook). Rule configurations stored as metafields are removed by Shopify when the App is uninstalled or when the merchant deletes a rule. We respond to GDPR data requests (customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact); since we hold no customer data, these requests require no data action on our side.
We do not sell, share, or transfer merchant data to any third party. The App is hosted on Fly.io (fly.io) which processes requests as our hosting provider.
We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected at this URL.
